Abstract

Background: Gestational diabetes is closely related to complications such as infection in women with cesarean section, the risk of ketonemia, preeclampsia and urinary tract, and perinatal disorders. Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a tolerance violation with different degrees from the onset or first recognized during pregnancy. (macrosomia, neonatal hypoglycemia, neonatal jaundice and fetal distress or fetal distress). The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between diabetes mellitus and the incidence of fetal distress at the Tamalanrea Jaya Health Center Makassar. Research method : This study used an observational research design with a cross sectional approach to study the relationship between diabetes mellitus in childbirth and the incidence of fetal distress. This research will be carried out at the Tamalanrea Jaya Makassar Health Center from February to August 2021. The population in this study were mothers who gave birth at the Tamalanrea Jaya Makassar Health Center and were recorded in the medical record, while the sample taken was only mothers who gave birth with diabetes mellitus. Results: The results of the study p value 0.04 < from 0.05 so that there is an impact that occurs in pregnant women with diabetes mellitus with the incidence of fetal distress. Conclusion: The conclusion in this study is that there is a significant effect between pregnant women with diabetes mellitus on the incidence of fetal distress.
