Abstract
National development aims to improve the quality of human resources in a sustainable manner. The quality of human resources is determined by the success of growth and development in childhood. Investments started early (childhood age) are considered the most profitable in human resource development. One of the important developments of children to monitor during this period is motor development. That's because much of cognitive performance is rooted in successful motor development. The combination of positive mother-child interaction, physical exercise and early stimulation will improve children's motor development. This study aims to: (1) analyze whether there is an effect of exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and stimulus on motor development in infants; (2) analyzing the differences in the development of infants who were given a stimulus and those who were not given a stimulus with a frequency of massage for 15-20 minutes / day. This type of the research is a quasi-experimental with a pre-post test group design that requires an intervention and control group with 15 intervention samples and 15 control samples, consecutive sampling with inclusion criteria for infants aged 0 -12 months, using a Pre-screening Questionnaire Development. The data were analyzed by using Chi-square test and Paired T-Test with 95% confidence level. The results of this study indicated that (1) there was no effect of exclusive breastfeeding on infant development in the intervention group, namely p sig = 0.202 > 0.05, and the control group p sig = 0.087 > 0.05; (2) there was no effect of complementary feeding on infant development in the intervention group, namely p sig = 0.364 > 0.05 and the control group p sig = 0.357 > 0.05; (3) there was a stimulus effect on infant development in the intervention group, namely p sig = 0.001 < 0.05 and the control group p sig = 0.004 < 0.05.Conclusion: Exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and stimulus are closely related to development, so the mother can control it and the baby will have normal development according to the stages of their age.
