Abstract
Background: In giving exclusive breastfeeding, mothers need readiness. Where readiness is a point of maturity to accept and practice certain behaviors. Ready is the overall condition of a person in responding or answering in a certain way to a situation, one of which is increasing knowledge
Objective: To find out the differences given by counseling about exclusive breastfeeding and its benefits for mothers and babies.
Method: the method used in this community service is to conduct counseling and distribute leaflets to find out the differences in mother's knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding
Results: Based on the results of data processing carried out using the Independent T Test with the number of respondents as many as 30 people above, it was obtained that Knowledge for the intervention group obtained an average value of + SD (58, 89 + 15.86), while the control group obtained a score of average + SD (45.47 + 4.31), so that the obtained P Value of 0.012 <0.05 means that counseling has an effect on the level of knowledge of postpartum mothers in the Timbusseng Village Work Area, Pattallassang District, Kab. Gowa.
