Abstract

Hypertension in pregnancy accounts for 5-15% of pregnancy complications and is one of the three highest causes of maternal mortality and morbidity. Bananas have a high potassium content which can help reduce and lower blood pressure. This service aims to provide information to all pregnant women at the Bontomarannu Health Center, Gowa Regency, to consume bananas to prevent hypertension in pregnancy and reduce blood pressure in pregnant women who experience hypertension. Bananas on reducing diastolic blood pressure in pregnant women. This community service activity was carried out at the Bontomarannu Health Center in Gowa Regency using counseling and discussion methods and distributing brochures containing information about the meaning and benefits of consuming bananas and continuing to implement health protocols. The activity was carried out on January 12, 2023 with the number of pregnant women who came, namely 15 people. The results obtained from this activity were all pregnant women who came very well received the education that had been conveyed and some even directly consumed bananas as the main solution in overcoming hypertension
